"I think if one of the five members is gone, then this wouldnt be DBSK. Only if the five of us are together and feel the same, then that's when we use the name DBSK and show ourselves as DBSK." -Changmin

[TRANS] 100608 Park Min Young Joins SungKyunKwan Scandal’s Infamous Quartet

T/N: This news has finally been confirmed by the production team of SungKyunKwan Scandal.

Actress Park Min Young has been cast as the female lead in SungKyunKwan Scandal.

The much anticipated news has arrived as it has been revealed that Park Min Young has scored the role of female lead Kim Yoon Hui in the drama ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’, which has been garnering great attention for its handsome cast of TVXQ’s Micky Yoochun, Song Joong Gi and Yu Ah In. The perfect ‘Jalgeum Quartet’ is now finalized.

Park Min Young, who was thrown in the spotlight and rose to stardom for her role in MBC sitcom ‘Unstoppable High Kick’, has since appeared in other dramas such as “I am Sam” and “Hometown Legends – Nine-Tailed Fox”. She has been actively involved in both contemporary and historical productions and was applauded for her enthusiastic performance as Princess Ra Hee in Ja Myung Go.

In ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’, Park Min Young will take on the role of Kim Yoon Hui, a strong girl who has an equally sturdy volition despite her feeble appearance. If she does something wrong to someone, she will chase that person down until she can beg for forgiveness and has a responsible and independent personality which leads her into constant trouble. But thanks to her bright intelligence, she is able to solve her problems out in a wise and firm way.

She works as a bookshop scribe with her talented writing skills to pay for her sick brother’s medicine until she ends up writing his entrance exam for him and is admitted as a Confucian scholar into the “Men Only” SungKyunKwan school. The stories of her ‘Survival in SungKyunKwan’ will be depicted in the drama.

Park Min Young stated, “I know that people have high expectations for the character Kim Yoon Hui. I’m very happy that I was selected to be part of a production I really wanted to do,” and “I was the first to audition for the role of Kim Yoon Hui in ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’.”

She continued to say, “I found the whole story of cross dressing in a historical drama and the background of SungKyunKwan, an actual place, very interesting. Although I have acted in a historical drama before, I’m excited and I can’t wait,” and “I will work harder as I was the last to be cast and I hope to bring the viewers a drama that lives up to their expectations. Please watch over us.”

A representative of the SungKyunKwan Scandal production team stated, “There were many eligible actresses for the role but we decided that Park Min Young went well with Kim Yoon Hui’s strong and confident image, so we chose her.”

Ever since news was heard that ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ would begin production this year, heated debates sprang up on and offline every time a new actor was added to the cast list which proved the soaring popularity of the drama. It is seen that setting Park Min Young has the lead role of Kim Yoon Hui will set the bar higher in terms of expectations from fans.

On the other hand, romantic, historical youth drama ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’, which is becoming the most awaited drama of 2010 with its line up of Micky Yoochun, Song Joong Gi and Yu Ah In, is set to air later this year and began filming last month on the 27th.
