Since I am addicted to boxing recently, I always go there.

A man with charm is 'talk less, act more'

Jung Yunho is the interpreter of new generation, with mentality and spirit of youth, he is walking at forefront of time, to encounter the beauty of present and future.

What's the most memorable event in your life?
My most memorable event, I believe was when I become a singer. At that moment I really felt fantastic. The first moment I stepped on stage, the first performance, those situations were vividly remembered till now. Everyone was crying out my name, I became the protagonist on stage. In fact, it was a very incredible thing to me. I believe I will never ever forget this first time in my life.

You are going to perform in musical, what do you think of it?
It seems to me a new world has arrived. Now I am preparing for musical adaptation of 'Goong' from drama version. Although it is also a performance on stage, but I can feel a big difference from standing on stage as a singer. Musical performances not only singing, but also need to practice dancing, and learn acting skills. It is a performance which mixes songs, dance and acting together. In order to show everyone my best appearance and attitude, I am now practicing hard, so please come and support my transformation into a musical actor, .

What kind of requirements do you think a charming man should have? Do you think you are a charming man?
The most important requirements for a charming man is talk less and more action. The men who can properly preserve and protect something which is valuable to them, this kind of men is attractive. It seems hard to assess myself! I don't know whether I did well or not, but only know I have to work hard continuously and do well in my part.

What are your recent plans? What's your impression of Hong Kong?
I am currently busy preparing for musical 'Goong' which will begin in September. Since I can perform with experienced actors, I have learned a lot from them. Besides that, I have to go to Japan to promote my drama 'HTTG' and DVD. Since there are a lot of promotions and public related activities, I often need to go back and forth between Japan and South Korea and become very busy. HTTG's DVD ranked no.1 on Japan's Oricon Chart, I totally suprised by everyone's love and support... SMTOWN will start a world tour in August, so I am now preparing for it. I hope to meet everyone with a fresher and better look later, so please continue to love me.
About my impression of Hong Kong, I think Hong Kong is a gracious and convenient place. This time I come here for cover shoot, many fans are following me, and waiting for me at the airport, I fully feel their enthusiasm and support. I love the night view of Hong Kong, and the food is very delicious too, so every time I come to Hong Kong I can fully enjoy it before I go back.

What type of girls do you like?
I like girls who have lively and cheerful personality, as well as can take care of the others, and being confident, and can give me good advices oftenly.

Q. Recent object that you find cute?
A. Toothless, from the movie "How To Train Your Dragon"

Q. If you were to date, would Korean or Japanese be better to use?
A. Of course, I'm more fluent in Korean, so it'll be easier. If I don't speak Japanese for a certain period of time, it will become unfamiliar.

Q. Which article of clothing did you like the best from today's shoot?
A. The Prada sweater. I normally like knitted clothing.

Q. Do you buy things in Tokyo? Which shop do you normally go to?
A. I will buy stuff, but I'm afraid that I won't be able to peacefully go to the store I usually go to so it's a secret.

Q. What's the difference between Korean and Japanese fans?
A. Essentially, I don't think that there's that much of a difference.

Q. This is your first time being a lead character in a drama, what are your thoughts after the filming ended?
A. Because I've always focused on my activities as a group, being the only one in the drama, I have to shoulder all the responsibility myself. Also, this is my first time challenging acting, so I will feel really pressured.

Q. After the filming ended, were there any view changes in terms of relationships and marriage?
A. There wasn't any particular changes.

Q. What are your thoughts regarding the filming site, Jeju Island?
A. I was really surprised with how easily the weather changes, which is completely different than in Seoul.

Q. What artist's song do you have on repeat?
A. CNBLUE

Q. Do you have interest in musicals?
A. Very interested. Although I don't have any particular plans of participating in any right now.

Q. What do you want to say to your Japanese fans now?
A. My Japanese fans, thank you so much for your concern for me during this period. Although it's frustrating how I can't tell everybody the specifics of future plans and the direction of my career, there will be work later on in Japan, so please anticipate it.

Q. Tell everybody how you spent your resting days.
A. The best way to relieve stress is going out for a drive. Going bowling with friends is also pretty good.

Q. Did you cheer for the world cup?
A. Late last night the Korean team was disqualified. I watched all of it at the hotel, so I'm lacking sleep today. I really like supporting sports, so I will often go and watch Baseball matches. But when they lose, I will feel really despondent.

Q. What are your thoughts on attending the Chanel fashion show?
A. This was my first time experiencing sitting in the first row of a fashion show, so it was very surprising. I was really really happy.

Q. What are you particularly interested in right now?
A. Just 3 days ago, I became hooked onto Tennis. In the past, I've always wanted to play Tennis, but I've never actually started learning yet.

Q. The most recent Japanese word you remember?
A. "Humidity". The humidity is really high, because my hair has natural curl, it has all become really curly.

Q. If you were to make an analysis on your personality...
A. The typical B-blood type. If I were to be completely immersed in something, I wouldn't be able to see the people around me at all.

Q. What is your average daily schedule?
A. Because it's really difficult for me to get up early in the morning, I will get up later in the morning and work out. Then I go to acting class and the day ends really quickly.

Q. Do you make your own food or order takeouts?
A. Mostly it's food made my others and I warm them up later on.

Q. What are your plans for this summer holiday?
A. I'm really busy with work this year, so there probably wouldn't be a holiday.

“Under my sister’s influence, I have also read many manga series targeting teenage girls, especially “Boys Over Flowers”! I really like Domyouji Tsukasa’s character and find it really interesting.”
When filming ended, Yunho said it care-freely with a smile. Not as the leader of the group, TVXQ, that Asia is crazy about but as the new lead of a new drama challenge, No Limits, Cha Bong-Goon.

“Although I felt very insecure as a new actor but I was attracted to Bong-Goon who grows up in the story. No matter what happens, he will work hard to progress and treat his family with love. Also, his methods of love is similar to me. However, there are also differences. Bong-Goon is very straight-forward when it comes to love but I am a little conservative. (Laughs) Although when I’m out, I’m leading but when it’s just the two of us, I want to be lead. As compared to expressing my love in a frank way, I would first consider the atmosphere of the surroundings.”

There’s a kissing scene in the drama

“A kissing scene? (Laughs) We NG-ed a lot~ my co-actress, Go Ara, comes from the same management company as me so we already had a good relationship. The moment I close my eyes, I already feel like laughing, it’s really troubling. The director said the kissing scene is getting smoother each time and that it will make one’s heart skip a beat. I feel that when a guy’s jawline can be seen when he stretches out his head is really handsome. I have understood the reason for acting this way as my seniors have always acted like this. (Laughs)”

“Although the filming of the drama has ended but Bong-Goon still stays in my heart.

“Recently, I feel that it’s really hard and frustrating, both physically and mentally. At that time, I would immediately think about what Bong-Goon would do if he was in the same situation as me. This way, I will have the strength to go forward and finish my job happily while carrying a thankful attitude.”

Working with Ninagawa, the theme is ‘Secret love’

“I wonder if I have the correct attitude and then I will show off a sexy side of myself. My own secret love… do I have one? (Laugh) I feel that a secret love is one where even friends don’t know the relationship between us two. This sort of love is a little hard in reality. It is only at the beginning will there be a love that is similar to one in a novel or movie but once you enter this line of work, you’d be more worried about the other person while dating. As I’m a true gentleman, no matter what happens, my priority will still be to protect the girl I love.”

To confirm it’s true love, it might take about 3 years.

“To confirm that a person is really suitable for me, I feel that it might take about this amount of time. I want to make sure I become a man that always treats the family with utmost priority no matter what. I really feel lonely and although I want a girlfriend, there will be no warmth between each other if we don’t really like each other. Dating, to me, will also cause changes in the outer appearance. Wearing formal clothes, drinking wine during a date, you would want to dress up more often right? For example if my girlfriend says that my hairstyle is really good, although I am embarrassed and show no reaction but in reality, my heart would be filled with satisfaction and I would want to maintain that hairstyle. (Laughs) Actually, being praised as good-looking is my favorite!!”

The type of girls that Yunho likes would be a very feminine one.

“Not only will she have to lead me when we are alone but also support me when we are together with friends. Also, I would want to try cooking for her. This relationship is my ideal love.”

Popular a capella group TVXQ's leader Yunho, began his solo activities formally as an actor. Continue to gain new experiences everyday, he then talked about his future dreams.
'I want to let everyone see my acting which I put in efforts wholeheartedly and my growth with that character'

Started to play the leading role in drama series "no limit~ HTTG" as soccer player Cha Bong Goon last year. He was very happy when he heard his dvd ranked no.1 on chart in Japan.

'During filming, there was soon the scene speeding in motorcycle, and there was also scene which I jumped into the fire. There were a lot of dangerous scenes that I didn't use substitute, but acted them personally. The scene I fall into Han River too... But, because I want to let everyone see my acting which I devoted wholeheartedly, things that I can do, I did them all.' This is the attitude of the new actor Yunho.

'Bong Goon is really a man with positive thinking, who pours in all his efforts no matter when. "There is a possibility to be successful if strive hard...". It is same with me at this point. Although he was a very childish person at the beginning, and his character was not good either. When I was acting this I felt,"This is a bit different~" (lol) However, he later tasted despair and has risen above it. As Bong Goon grew, I also changed. Whenever I feel painful physically and mentally at work, I often think of,"What will Bong Goon do?" I seem to have grown with him.'

He stood on stage of MJ tribute concert in Korea in March this year and is currently rehearsing for Musical "Goong" which will begin in autumn.
'For me, this is another new challenge. I am really glad that I received this opportunity to train myself. I want to show everyone a fresh Yunho with new attitude. The character I played in "Goong" is a crown prince Lee Shin, who is opposite from Bong Goon who grew in poverty and adversity... "Although they are totally different, but they are Yunho too.", this kind of fresh feelings.'
From here a new challenge began.
'I have always wanted to act in a movie formally. It is also meaningful if I play as villain, because the usual me gives aggressive impression to the others. I don't want to be limited in this kind of image, I want to challenge various characters. Besides that, my latest hobbies is begin to learn tap dance. I am going to show it to everyone if I finished learning, please look forward to it.'

I am very happy if our existence able to fully fill in everyone’s energy.
Since my mother is also working, so I can understand better the trouble for balancing work and family. But in Japan's fanmeeting, I can see the whole family (come to support) with happy mood and I am touched by that, "ah, this is really good~"
Ladies who put in all their efforts no matter for whom and enjoy their life are pretty! I will also feel difficult when there is only work. Able to discover something interesting, is very important for continuation of life.
My favourite thing now is bike. In this season, to ride on the bike along Han River with the wind blow in my face, my mood is great!

I have always wanted to repay everyone.
My future dreams, not only as a singer and actor, but also as a stage director who can create my own stage from scratch, etc. Another thing is to let those who want to be an artist to learn free of charge. For those who have abilities and ideas but don't have chance due to lack of money, I want to support their ambitions. I have been hearing this from seniors in celebrities world and my father, "After Yunho has become famous, have to repay a debt of gratitude by helping others within your abilities." and I am going to do it someday.
My father, whom is like a teacher and friend to me, has been giving me advices. The words that left deepest impression on me was, 'A genius can't win over a hardworking person, a hardworking person can't win over an optimistic person.' If you do something with positive mood, you won't feel difficult even though you have to try hard, if you continue to work hard, you can surpass the genius. I have spent my time happily today, and become an artist who can bring happiness to everyone too. I am going to work harder from now onwards.'

Even though it's said that in concerts that there are many songs repeated, but because it's been such a long time since hearing the voices of the three, their huge presence gives us a heartfelt feeling that's hard to express in words. Like the last song in the concert , the lyrics like "hitotsu hitotsu nobotteikuyo" (climbing step by step) resound through and show their deep hope for the future.


Jejung Junsu Yuchun
The three's Thanksgiving Live in Dome successfully finished on the 13th of June in Tokyo Dome. There was a total of 4 performances held at the Osaka Kyocera Dome, and Tokyo Dome. Accordingly, the concert broke audience number records for the Kyocera Dome, and it attracted approximately 54,000 viewers to the Tokyo Dome. Both the three of them and the fans were waiting for this day of being back on the stage. When the concert started, a video of the three with their personal messages to the fans was shown and triggered many emotions. In this heated atmosphere, the three appeared on different parts of the stage and regrouped back in the center. Ah, it really feels like a drama....

Then they performed a new song (Always for You), and the three's voices that expressed their feelings deeply moved the audience. Jejung and Yuchun brought a lot of emotion with their love song , and Junsu sang the theme song for Yuchun's drama. After that, Junsu suddenly changed the topic to Yuchun's kiss scene and brought a lot of laughter to the audience.

On top of the songs , , and which were composed especially for the concert, Yuchun and Jejung performed which the whole audience sang along to.

Junsu followed on with his hot dance track which was released under the name "XIAH Junsu". His sensual dance moves and manly charisma took many's attention. Jejung and Yuchun also surprisingly joined in for a part of the performance, and was only available during this concert, something like a present for the fans.

After that was Yuchun's solo , and he chose a lucky fan from the audience. The fan, after arriving on the stage was quite confused, but with Yuchun serenading her and having his eyes on her, the rest of the audience was in a frenzy.

Under the criss-crossings of spotlights, Jejung performed intense rock song and held the same sexy charisma. The three that have these qualities awed the audience.

With special guest Lisa, they performed m-flo's and again rose the tension of the venue.

After all of those performances, the one with the most attention was their encore song that was sung with a deeply sorrowful voice that stunned the audience. Voices like these will always be treasured no matter what time it is. They expressed their honest and pure thoughts, as well as their gratefulness of being able to stand on the stage to the fans after the performance.

"I was worried if we could perform in the Dome once again, but the reason we're performing here is because of everyone's support", was Yuchun's emotion filled comment.

Junsu also said: "It's like the rope binding me tightly has been broken and I'm really happy, thank you everyone", and showed a face of emotion that was unforgettable.

Jejung commented: "I cried in front of everyone at the Osaka stage, and I think I shouldn't of done that. Compared to that, isn't singing my heart out and presenting a joyous stage more meaningful?"

The three's honest words stirred up a lot of emotion, and also tears. The three also were leaving the stage with red eyes from their emotions.

[TRANS] 100711 Elle Girl August issue Q&A - 'Hello Again Changmin'

The theme of this particular photoshoot was 'Late night date'. If you were to take a girl out at night, where would you take her?

I'd probably take her to a theme park, especially if we were in Japan. I want it to be just the two of us inside a cable car. If we were in Seoul, then I'd go to Seoul Tower. The evening view is beautiful and it is recognized as a place where many couples make lifelong promises to one another, it's very romantic.

It's been two months since your last shoot, what is it like being back in Japan?

Japan has become my home, I no longer feel like I'm in a foreign country, it's more like traveling around within my hometown. It is regretful that in recent trips to Japan, I've only stayed for around 2 days and carried around a backpack with me.

Have you still been training since filming for your drama ended?

Since filming ended, I've started to eat a lot more and gained some weight. I cannot slack from training. Everyday I train with dumbbells and run on the treadmill, allowing myself an hour and a half or cardio. I really want to tone up my calves, I feel like they're too skinny for a man.

Now that you're on a break, will you be attending university?

Even though I can't attend school like normal students, I've gone periodically. The coffee at school is really good.

Did you watch South Korea's matches in the World Cup?

Truthfully, I'd really like to go out and watch the World Cup whilst drinking, but because of work, I'm only able to scream and shout over the World Cup at home with Yunho, Yunho's friends and our manager. Besides Korea's games, I've also watched some of the live broadcasts, so I haven't been sleeping very well (laughs).

What is it like living with Yunho? What are the advantages and disadvantages?

The disadvantage is that I really cannot stand mess, so I have to tidy the house all the time. It's not that I dislike cleaning up, but it really annoys me whenever I see the house in a chaotic mess, so sometimes, as a joke, I say to Yunho 'Let's not live together.' When that happens, Yunho will start to panic and apologize to me. The advantage is that I'm the youngest, so I never have to pay for anything. I'm lucky (laughs).

Friends, family, lovers, work and yourself. Rank the five in terms of their importance to you.

At the moment, I think I'd put myself first. I've recently had a change in my mode of thinking, I always want to do the things I want to do well. After that is my family, then work, then lover, then friends. Even though I'm saying this right now, these ranks will probably change as my mood changes, but right now, out of the five, the two that give me the most motivation is my family and lover. I strive for excellence because of their existence.

Do you have anything to say to your Japanese fans?

Right now, I'm concentrating mainly on my Korean activities, work in Japan has really decreased by a lot. However, I find activities in Japan to be immensely enjoyable, and I'd really like to return to Japan as soon as possible and participate in a variety of activities. It may take some time, so please wait for me!

Tohoshinki members Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu have formed a new unit and commenced their activities as a group. In order to truly grasp the power of their charisma and their mindset on stage, we will begin by interviewing some of the crew who have worked with the three of them in the past.

Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu, who are hugely popular in Japan, have an average age of around 25 years old. How do the people around them perceive the three members behind the scenes? We interviewed two of their former stylists to find out.

Masah-san said 'They were already superstars in Korea and all over Asia when I first started working with them, but they had only just debuted in Japan. Originally, I thought they'd be proud and overconfident, but as it turned out, they were shockingly humble and polite. This could be due to the customs and traditions of Korea, which command respect towards seniors. They were both refreshing and charismatic. They have tall figures and toned bodies, and their perfect figures are best displayed when dressed in suits; all in all, no matter what they are dressed in, the clothes fit as though they were especially tailored for them. In any case, as their stylist, I frequently get a 'ah, they give those clothes value' kind of feeling. Also, the relationship between the members is almost like that of a family, and that was something we witnessed regularly through their interaction. Now that I think back, my mind is suddenly flooded with memories of the glorious past.

Similarly, another stylist commented that 'They have not changed at all since the day of their debut, despite their popularity in Japan, their attitudes toward the people around them have remained the same, but in terms of their work, they've become increasingly aggressive. Back when we were preparing for the concerts in Osaka and Tokyo, Jaejoong spent much of his time discussing matters regarding wardrobe with me, he even followed me home at times to talk about it, and it was all to satisfy their fans.' The three of them really like fashion, particularly Yoochun and Jaejoong, they have a deep interest in Japanese fashion. As their stylist, I feel a lot of joy.'

Even off camera and behind the scenes, they are warm, polite and humble towards all members of staff. Even men find their charm difficult to resist.

Dressed in a brown leather coat and denim jeans, I could feel a mix and match kind of vibe, and this was enhanced by the studded belt he was wearing. Yoochun, who spent some time living in the US, is really suited for this kind of casual look.

Junsu, who recently began his solo activities under the name Xiah Junsu wore a military inspired top which also had a casual, simplistic feel. The knit shirt and the edgy jeans are apparently a combination Junsu himself wanted to experiment with.

Working diligently since the age of 15 in pursuit of his dream, Jaejoong wore a black coat and a black knit top. In terms of accessories, he wore a simple silver pendant. As a whole, whilst his look seemed effortless, Jaejoong managed to exude an aura of grace and elegance.

2008 Debuted no.1 on Oricon Chart, Becomes the most powerful Asia Star in History
In 2008, good news suddenly reached them. Their 16th single 'Purple Line' which released in January debuted atop the oricon, realized their vision. Taking this opportunity, experienced a sudden surge in media's attention towards THSK. Following 'Purple Line', 'Beautiful you', 'Dōshite Kimi o Suki ni Natte Shimattandarō?' and 'Mirotic' topped the chart successively. In '3rd Live Tour 2008 -T-' which began in March, the fans facing difficulties in getting a ticket even joined in the fan club.
The opportunities to star in prime time variety shows also increased. Through these shows, natural atmosphere and each member's personal charm were demonstrated. Due to this, their popularity brought to a higher level. They finally can attend Kōhaku Uta Gassen Music Festival on New Year's Eve, accomplished their goal of 'getting recognition with their real talents in Japan'.
With great success that achieved in Japan, they released their 4th original album 'Mirotic' in Korea after 2 years. Since their activities in Korea was disrupted for a long time, with anxiety and pressure, five of them harvested a total of 460,000 copies sold from their album. This year, DBSK swept all major music awards in Korea. In '2008 MKMF' , it left a deep impression, when Changmin who seldom cried, shed his tears in front of people. Able to achieve great success in Asia, including Korea and Japan, it was a remarkable path.


2009 The joy of success only in the blink of an eye... Facing the crisis of disbandment
DBSK's fast forward speed did not slow down in year 2009. Their 4th Japanese album 'The Secret Code' which released in March set their highest sales record in their own history and had been certified platinum. In May, they began their '4th Live Tour 2009~The Secret Code'. During the LIVE tour, they announced additional performances in Tokyo Dome, which again accomplished their goal as 5 together.
After the LIVE tour, Jejung and Yuchun released their self-composed single under the name of JEJUNG&YUCHUN (from东方神起). Yunho and Changmin also confirmed to star in their own drama series. The members were active in their solo activities. The commotion of disbandment was ready to explode.
On 31st of July 2009, Jejung, Yuchun and Junsu, three of them submitted an application to the Seoul Central District Court to determine the validity of their contract with SM Entertainment. Following this, their relationship with SM fall into dilemma. In October, the Seoul Central District Court ruled out invalidity in some parts of the contract, before the end of litigation, three of them have freedom to perform activities outside SM management. The activities together as 5 became impossible in Korea. They continued their activities in Japan as scheduled, participated in August's 'a-nation'09', and the other event. With the beginning of NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen at the end of the year, in this Japanese musical festival which had been participated for a various of time, they welcomed the new year in agony.


2010 Suspension of DBSK activities, but their hearts should not separate yet
On 27th of January 2010, released 29th single 'Break Out', which topped both weekly and monthly Oricon chart. Broke the record for the highest initial sales for foreign artists with a total of 25.6 million copies. However the crisis of disbandment still exists. On 3rd of April, AVEX officially announced the suspension of Tohoshinki's activities as 5. As a result, there is no chance of seeing five of them working together in Japan too.
During this period of time, Jejung, Yuchun and Junsu three of them accepted the court's decision in October 2009, and begin their activities. Junsu acted in 'Mozart' musical in January, Jejung plays a role in Japanese series drama 'Sunao ni Narenakute' which is still broadcasting now. Yuchun cast as main lead in BeeTV drama series 'Beautiful Love~Kimiga Ireba~'which started from 4th of June, meanwhile he was also confirmed to take part in Korean series drama 'SunKyunKwan Scandal'. Three of them even appeared as a subunit 'JYJ', performing live in Osaka and Tokyo Dome. On the other hand, Yunho and Changmin who stayed with SM, also started their solo activities.
On 9th of May, SM made an appeal to the request placed by the trio, the talks cannot be proceeded. The Courts advocated that: 'If the contents of the contract can be changed, there's possibility for 5 of them to active again.' However, how does it going to develop in the future is quite worrying. But we have to keep in faith that we can see them on stage together again as five.
