[TRANS] 101126 JYJ World Wide Concert Performing in Dome

JYJ (Jaejoong, Yoochun, Junsu) will be holding their first world wide concert ‘JYJ Worldwide Concert in Seoul’ in Seoul Jamsil Olympic Stadium which would be transformed to a dome with the roof covered.

On the 20th the organizer stated, “JYJ first worldwide concert in Seoul would be covered with a roof to solve the problem about the weather and sound quality which always happen with outdoor performance stages yet at the same time, giving the best stage to the fans in Jamsil Olympic Stadium.”

The stadium would be covered like a dome to maximize the lightning effect as well as the sound quality compared to a open outdoor performance which have these as their weak points.

Despite the cold weather on the day of the event (it’s winter when the concert is going to hold), fans will be able to enjoy the show warmly in the dome.

The dome is being constructed with a new, safer kind of textile fabric (as opposed to traditional steel cables). Jamsil Olympic Stadium is the first domed theater of this magnitude in Korea, even on a global scale few other performance halls have adopted such a unique, lightweight construction method.

C-JeS Entertainment, reports that “No doubt this concert will be the best show ever, featuring the best quality of stage presentation, production, and sound.” The agency goes on to say that it will do its best to “provide audience members with the most unforgettable concert experience of their lives."

The JYJ Worldwide Concert in Seoul will be directed by Jeri Slaughter, a well-known concert producer who has worked with international stars Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez and Christina Aguilera.

Tickets for the concert has been selling fast. At the first-round of pre-sale ticket buying on Interpark website on October 19th, seats were sold out in just 20 minutes. The popularity of the K-pop sensation was proved once again when another batch of 20,000 tickets was also sold out in a second pre-sale ticket buying.

The JYJ Worldwide Concert in Seoul is a two-day event that will be held on November 27th and 28th with a total seating of 100,000 (50,000 for each show).

[ALLKPOP] JYJ’s P1 visas denied, members to put on a free concert

Recently, we broke the news about some trouble brewing for JYJ’s US Concert Tour, and now it has been officially confirmed – the boys allegedly can’t get working visas, so they’re unable to claim an income from the sales.

ENTITLED ENTERTAINMENT recently updated their website confirming what we first reported, and they’ve also shed light that the members will pay for the showcase themselves to honor their commitment to their fans in the US. In other words, they will perform free concerts for the fans.

JYJ’s P1 Visas Denied for US Performance

Members decides to pay for showcase themselves to honor their commitment to their fans in the US

11 November 2010 – JYJ has decided to go ahead and perform for their fans in the US despite being denied of their P1 visas. Cjes Management, the management company for JYJ has stated that it is of utmost importance that JYJ keeps their promise to their fans and they have been in New York since the 9th to await the decision only to be given the disappointing news.

According to US lawyers advising the team on the situation, JYJ will still be able to take stage on the condition that the performance is free and they receive no monetary benefit for the performance. Due to the fact that substantial costs has already been incurred by the promoters for production, flights, accommodations, there will still be a financial responsibility to be fulfilled which JYJ has decided to undertake this upon themselves to make the events happen.

Says Cjes Entertainment CEO, Mr Baek Chang Ju, “We are still awaiting the official reason to why their P1 visas have been denied since the band has followed every procedure required and also did their interviews accordingly. We are extremely puzzled by this matter and will continue investigations into it. For now, JYJ’s primary objective is to make sure that fans are still able to catch the showcase. Hence we have decided to step in on all costs associated with putting on the show to make sure that the events go on as planned.”

All venues have been informed on setting up FAQs on how fans can receive a refund on the tickets they bought. In addition, fans who have paid for a ticket will also receive a ticket to the free showcase. The rest of the tickets will be allocated on a first come first serve basis from Ticketmaster.

The refund process will start at 12pm on the 11th November 2010.

It’s good to see JYJ’s commitment to their fans despite the issues that they’re having.

[ALLKPOP] BREAKING: JYJ’s tour in shambles, possible cancellation?

JYJ has been surrounded by a lot of controversy lately due to the sudden cancellations of their Seattle, San Francisco, and Hawaii stops on their ‘JYJ World Tour‘. Now, multiple sources close to the tour have recently come forward to allkpop and have disclosed that preparations for the remaining three stops (New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles) have been nothing short of a free-flowing disaster.

According to these sources, JYJ’s PR team was scheduled to go to the Korean press this morning to announce the cancellation of the entire U.S. leg of their world tour.

The tour was already on the verge of a breakdown, as the shows were already privately called off at two or three different times. Yet somehow, they decided that the show had to limp on, despite the fact that the boys now no longer had venues to perform in.

Apparently, the respective venues for each stop were contacted this morning and informed that the shows were off. Now though, after their most recent change of heart, the production team is scrambling to re-book or find alternative stages for JYJ to perform on, as a way of avoiding cancelling the shows altogether.

With the New York show less than 24 hours away, their team is already racing against the clock. However, the team has been served a shorter deadline from the higher echelons of the agency – if venues cannot be secured in 12 hours, JYJ’s management will pull the plug on the entire U.S. operation.

Even if JYJ’s team did manage to find venues, the sources declared that they’re forced at this point to make at least one of them a free concert. The boys allegedly can’t get working visas, and so they’re unable to claim an income from the sales. Fans who have already purchased the expensive tickets can feel a little relief in knowing that they will be reimbursed fully, regardless of whether the show will go on or not.

An announcement made over JYJ’s official ‘US Tour’ Facebook page (“HUGE NEWS BREWING. STAY TUNED…“) indicated to our sources that it could only be one of the two aforementioned outcomes: a free show (which is what they are shooting for), or the cancellation of the entire U.S. tour.

Just to be clear, there is no official confirmation from JYJ’s people that they have indeed cancelled all three remaining shows. However, sources within JYJ’s camp have regrettably acknowledged that our information surrounding the tour is accurate. So unless a minor miracle happens, fans may be in for crushing news, but either way, the bottom line is that things are a mess.

Stay tuned to allkpop for further updates on this breaking news.

Update: If we didn’t make it clear enough, please realize that this is not the direct fault of JYJ themselves. We have not said anything, nor have we inferred anything of the sort.

Rather, we believe that this mess revolves around patchy planning and faulty management, along with schemes made by public relations individuals to try and twist the reality of the situation into something that would make it appear more attractive to the fans.

Furthermore, while you should rightfully feel sympathetic for JYJ, please also remember the staff, venues, vendors, and all the other innocent bystanders who were caught up in the crossfire of poor decision-making. JYJ will always have your support to lean on, but the lives of others who were adversely affected do not have anything nearly as strong to support them.

For now, JYJ fans should simply hope that their management can pull everything together at the last minute and put on a great show for all their loyal supporters, even if it is a free concert.

[TRANS] JYJ lose impression marks

From 5 to 3, JYJ’s 15-sec pause/silence (title of this article)

Bidding farewell to TVXQ and forming the new unit of JYJ, Yoochun, Junsu and Jaejoong visited Singapore for the first time with their new album. However, the press conference lasted for a mere 15 minutes , leading to the protest of the media.

As a result of the local organizer’s incompetence in many aspects, JYJ lost impression marks and Yoochun ended up having to apologizing to the local media.

After the formation of their new unit, JYJ was faced with many scandals. There were Japanese media reports that the trio’s termination of contract with former employer SM Entertainment was allegedly backed by local gangsters.

Recently, SM Entertainment applied for an injunction to the Seoul court for prohibition of the sale of JYJ’s album, on the grounds of their existing contract. At the same time, the Korean Federation of Pop Culture and Arts has requested all tv stations, radio stations, record companies and music sites to boycott JYJ’s works.

In the media invitation, the local organizer mentioned that JYJ’s management company has specifically requested that questions regarding SM Entertainment, criminal affiliation, the lawsuit and TVXQ are to be forbidden.

Yet amidst the hype around the scandal, it is impossible that the local media would allow such valuable opportunity (of asking JYJ their feedback) to pass. However, the local media to understand the organiser’s stance and have tried to cooperate by avoiding sensitive wordings and raise questions in an indirect manner.

However before the press conference started, the MC suddenly notified the present 20 media that there will not be a question-and-answer section. Instead, the MC himself will be representing the media in asking a set of “approved questions”.

I questioned the MC as to where the source of these “approved questions” came from since the organizer did not request questions from media prior to the event. He merely answered me “I don’t know”.

PR executing “press control”

Some media requested an explanation from authorities and after 10 minutes, the representative of the PR firm explained that due to the flight delay, JYJ has to rush to rehearsal and hence only 15 minutes can be spared for the press conference.

I therefore challenged that 15 minutes is still sufficient for a question-and-answer section. It is only till this point that the PR firm admitted that they were to execute firm “press control” to avoid sensitive questions directed to JYJ, to avoid JYJ’s flustered faces being caught on camera.

Since the official side posed a firm stance, the local media to take one step at a time.

When the press conference kick started, the MC did not even wait for JYJ to introduce themselves, and started asking the list of questions from his sheet of paper.

7 questions were approximately asked within 10 questions, which all emphasized on JYJ’s collaboration with Kayne West and Rodney Jerkins. In fact, their names almost appeared 10 times which made me question whether this is a press conference to eulogize these two great producers.

In the last 5 minutes, the PR representative decided to allow the local media to ask 5 questions.

I immediately grasp hold of this opportunity and asked JYJ how does it feel to be as 3 instead of 5? Despite my efforts in avoiding sensitive vocabulary and packaging my question to a non-defensive manner, the trio still looked at each other for 15 seconds (without answering). At least, Junsu picked up the microphone and answered “the feeling is a bit different and the three of us have to work harder to create very different music to everyone.”

PR arbitrarily changing questions from the media

The name of the album “The Beginning” obviously signifies a kickstart once again.

One reporter asked them what sentiments the trio harbour regarding “beginning”. This, however, was arbitrarily changed by the PR firm into “let them tell us more about their feelings towards the new album”.

I indirectly asked again, whether the trio has been affected by the hurdles the new album faced?

Amongst the trio, Yoochun could understand and speak English. However, before he could even react, the PR representative immediately sternly retorted “we will not answer this question” and then told the translator “you don’t have to translate this question”.

After that, another reporter conveyed the fans’ wishes to see the 5 of them again, and asked whether this will be fulfilled in future? Just like before, before JYJ could react, the PR representative immediately warded off this question.

There were only 2 questions from the media that were unscathed. (Below are the questions:)

Were there worries before the release of this album? The trio admitted that they worried about both the album sales and their future.

What was the happiest incident after the formation of JYJ? The trio expressed that they felt apologetic that the fans had to wait for so long, and that in future there will be many more events and activities where they could repay the love of their fans.

Yoochun saying sorry to reporters

Since Yoochun comprehended English, I believe that he understood the questions from the media.

Even if he merely said to us “I’m sorry, we are unable to answer this question”, the local media will be more than willing to accept this answer. However, often before he could even speak or translate the questions to the other 2 members, or that he could sign for help from the staff, someone would jump to fend off the questions.

The staff erected a strong and tall firewall and thought that this would enable the artists to remain unscathed, but in fact this has created an opposite effect.

When the artist is stripped of the chance to answer and can only stare at the media blankly, it is inevitable that the impression from the media is that the artist does not have his own thoughts or the ability/flexibility to answer the media’s questions.

After the press conference, the trio ran into the reporter (not sure whether he is referring to himself or media in general) and Yoochun said “sorry”, seemingly to apologize for the unpleasant press conference.

This apology made me felt that the trio had reasons for being unable to reveal their true emotions, or that they had lots of words to say, but was sadly not offered a chance to do so?

[TRANS] 101015 JYJ States "CJeS Is Nothing More Than An Agency"

JYJ's side has retaliated against SM's exclusive contract suspension and album sales prohibition injunction that was filed to the Seoul District Courts on the 8th against JYJ's worldwide album 'The Beginning'.

SM accused the members of JYJ, Kim Jaejoong, Park Yoochun and Kim Junsu, of signing onto an exclusive contract with CJeS Entertainment even though their exclusive contract with SM as not ended yet.

Following this, the Korean Federation of Pop Culture and Arts Industry released an official notice to all broadcasting companies, label companies and online music distribution companies asking them to refrain from aiding JYJ in any way for the same reasons.

JYJ had a partial victory from their exclusive contract suspension injunction against SM Entertainment, but as their contract with the entertainment agency has not been ended yet, they would be in an illegal dual contract if they have signed an exclusive contract with CJeS Entertainment.

However, JYJ representatives stated, "JYJ have not signed an exclusive contract with CJeS contrary to what SM and the KFPCAI are insisting," and "CJeS is merely in charge of management that provides a route for domestic activities."

JYJ's spokesperson Prain stated in a phone conversation with reporters on the 15th that, "SM and the KFPCAI are insisting that there is a dual contract involved, which is causing a problem. However, this is not true. It is not that JYJ and CJeS have formally signed a contract, which would mean that JYJ would be working under CJeS, it's that CJeS is merely working as JYJ's agency."

Prain continued to add that, "JYJ have not signed on to work under a new entertainment agency, they're just leaving management-related work to CJeS to handle. It's just like how we are in charge of handling all of their publicity-related work and how Warner Music Korea is in charge of all of their album-related work."

Prain revealed that, "A misunderstanding may have occurred because the concept of an 'agency' is still unfamiliar to most people in Korea. When the overseas showcase events are done, we will officially respond to SM and the KFPCAI's claims with sufficient evidence and documents."

Regarding the scope of JYJ's independent activities, which SM is claiming as the issue, Prain stated, "This is something that has already gone through sufficient legal review," and "By law, there is nothing that would cause a problem for JYJ."

Prain implied that SM's stance lacks legal and logical validity when it was stated that, "We have confirmed that by law, SM Entertainment has no real reason to file an album sales prohibition injunction against JYJ's activities."

Definition of Agency: Fiduciary relationship (Special relationship of trust and confidence in which law demands a higher than ordinary degree of care and responsibility from the dominant or trusted party) between two parties in which one (the 'agent') is under the control of (is obligated to) the other (the 'principal') . The agent is authorized by the principal to perform certain acts, for and on behalf of the principal. The principal is bound by the acts of the agent, performed in carrying out entrusted duties and within the scope of agent's authority. An agency can be created by (1) express agreement, whether oral or written, (2) implication, based on the custom or practice of the trade, or (3) conduct of the principal. Creation of agency is essential to commercial and financial transactions, because an organization (as a legal entity) can function only through its agents.

T/N: In Korean, the distinction is made as 에이전시 (agency, CJeS) and 소속사 (affiliated company, SM).
The concept of an 'agency' is still quite rare in the Korean entertainment industry as most celebrities work under an entertainment agency/company such as SM, YG, JYP etc, that is in charge of everything, instead of hiring an agency to work for them for a particular field.
JYJ have different agencies working for them for different areas.
CJeS = management, Prain = publicity, Warner Music Korea = album sales

I hope this helps a little? ^^

[NEWS] 101015 SM Puts More Pressure on Former TVXQ members

SM Entertainment continues to disrupt the debut of the three breakaway members of TVXQ, one of Korea’s most popular boy bands. JYJ is comprised of Jae-joong, Yu-chun and Jun-su.

On Oct. 8, SM Entertainment filed an injunction with a Seoul court to stop the release of “The Beginning,” and filed a suspension on exclusive contract with C-JES Entertainment.

C-JES Entertainment is a Korean agency that is now managing JYJ. SM Entertainment recently complained, saying that signing a contract with C-JES Entertainment amounts to holding an unfair double contract.

SM Entertainment also continues its attempt to stop JYJ’s debut in other countries. Sports Korea recently reported that SM Entertainment has sent files of complaint to the head quarter in United States of JYJ’s distributor, WarnerMusic Korea. “The Beginning” is recorded entirely in English and is supposedly to be released in several countries worldwide.

The Korean Federation of Pop Culture and Art Industry has sent letters to TV stations KBS, SBS and MBC and cable network Mnet, and Korean online music sites and asked them not to allow JYJ to appear on their shows and sell the digital albums.

However, Korean online music sites defied the letter and released the digital copies of JYJ’s “The Beginning” album on Oct 14. The songs in the album entered the top 10 on real-time music charts.

This coincidence is a greater source of despair for JYJ members, as they had to cancel 500 albums reserved before their showcase on Oct. 12. Since their showcase, Korea Sports has reported that there were absolutely no signs of JYJ’s on any television channels.

JYJ previously planned to have showcases in other countries to meet their worldwide fans for their debut. However, an ongoing dispute with SM Entertainment over legal issues related to their contract; it might take a while before the trio can perform without restraints.

[TRANS] 101015 Japan Avex CEO masatomatsuura’s tweet about JYJ is creating a commotion

TVXQ’s members, Micky YooCheon, Xiah Junsu, Hero JaeJoong signed a contract with CJes Entertainment and there by forming JYJ. On the 12th, they mark the start of their first World Tour Showcase at GoRyo University. After the end of the showcase, on the 13th, masatomatsuura posted a tweet at his twitter page saying “I opened my heart and spoke to them but I was betrayed like nothing happened. It’s important to have trust. Especially when you’re in such an industry, trust is a must. I had wished that I can speak of the matters someday.” Adding on he tweeted “Losing is winning. Even it is so now, someday things will change. The strength that allows me to endure such humiliation is perseverance and training. Someday, I will tell these stuck-ups off. Because I will not lose in the end. I’m just talking to myself.” And he added, “If there’s no pain, it’s not interesting.”

For JYJ fans who have seen those messages, they replied harsh messages like “I start to hate Japan.”, “JYJ is so pitiful”, “Bad guy” [this word is not very pleasant in Korean.] But masatomatsuura replied saying “You’ll get your retribution.” “Please be careful of what you say.” With that, a fight of resentment has started.

AVEX has expressed on the 16th sept that because of the law issues that CJes is involved in and the on-going contract issues with SME, AVEX has used these reasons to express that they will stop JYJ’s activities in Japan. With that JYJ expressed on 17th Sep that “we have no intentions to stop our activities in Japan and we had abided with all our contract terms faithfully. But from a few months back onwards, AVEX has started to stress that the contract terms were unreasonable and one-sidedly decided to stop the contract and even issued released news saying that we will be stopping our activities.”

[TRANS] 101014 JYJ Side States, "The Label Company Will Respond To SM's Legal Actions"

Regarding SM Entertainment's album sales prohibition injunction filed against JYJ's new album, JYJ's side has stated, "We are not planning any particular response to it as of now."

JYJ's representative, in a phone call with SSTV on the 14th, stated, "We have no intention of responding to the injunction right now, and this is a problem the label company will respond to," and "We will keep a close watch on how the label company and SM Entertainment will resolve this issue."

SM revealed on the 13th that they filed an exclusive contract suspension and album sales prohibition injunction to the Seoul District Courts on the 8th against JYJ, CJeS and JYJ's worldwide album 'The Beginning'.

SM's reason is that, "By releasing their albums through CJeS Entertainment even though the verdict has not been made on their lawsuit, there is a high possibility that this may lead into an unexpected third party legal dispute." The exclusive contract lawsuit between the members of JYJ and SM Entertainment is still yet to be resolved.

The Korean Federation of Pop Culture and Arts Industry (KFPCAI) has also stepped up to support SM's stance. Through an official notice to all broadcasting companies, label companies and online music distribution companies, the KFPCAI called for such companies to refrain from allowing JYJ to appear on their shows and even from cooperating with JYJ with their activities.

Regarding this, JYJ's representative was careful with his words and did not say much as he stated, "We are not releasing an official response to the injunction or the KFPCAI's actions for now but we will keep a close watch on everything."

[NEWS] 101014 JYJ Sells a Record-Breaking 520,000 Pre-Orders of The Beginning

JYJ’s first album, The Beginning, has surpassed pre-orders of 520,000 cds.

JYJ’s distributor, Warner Music Korea, says that the production of more than “99,999 limited edition copies, 300,000 special edition copies and 220,000 regular edition copies” and supplying retailers were what caused the delay in the release.

JYJ was able to feel the explosion of interest from fans when they were preparing for the special pre-orders which has since sold out. They are still getting interest in the special pre-orders.

The general album debuted today and the special editions will be released on October 18th.

Warner Music went on to say that, “JYJ who has 520,000 copies just in pre-orders, will give the boost that the sluggish music market needs.”

These boys just keep getting more and more amazing. They’ve sold out their Seoul showcase in 15 minutes, and it looks like they could possibly sell a million copies!

[TRANS] 101013 JYJ's First Showcase: "We Finally Stood On Stage With Mics In Hand" + Q&A

TVXQ members Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu, who formed a male trio JYJ, finally stood in front of their Korean fans for the first time.

At 9PM on the 12th, JYJ held their 「JYJ Worldwide Showcase」 in Hwajeong Gymnasium, Korea University, Anam-dong, Seoul, and showed off their bright and confident images.

On that day, it was the first public exhibit of JYJ's first worldwide album 「The Beginning」, which the trio had worked together with famous American producers Kanye West and Rodney Jerkins. During the LIVE, 4 songs from that album, as well as the OST song 「Chajatta」 from KBS2's drama 「Sungkyunkwan Scandal」, were introduced. This album has attracted a lot of attention because it includes songs by each of the trio, composed from when they were teens. Through their powerful voices and refined choreography, one could catch a glimpse of the sincerity and effort the trio have put into this album.

Next, is a question and answer with JYJ:

-- How do you feel, standing on the stage after such a long time?

JJ: Completely grateful. This is the first time we recorded an album in which the songs are all in English, so it might be unfamiliar, but as the fans are familiar with our voices, I hope they'll listen to it well. As we spent a lot of time preparing for this album, I hope that the fans will enjoy it with all their hearts.

-- This is JYJ's first album. Are there any new feelings?

JS: The album and our music are our means of communication with the fans, so I worried a lot. Through our fans' support, we were able to release the album without any problems, so I'm really happy.

-- The producers involved in this album are very famous people.

YC: I'm really happy to have been able to work with such famous people that I've only heard about when I was living in the United States during my childhood. The recording also has special sentimental value because the recording studio that we used also had connections to Michael Jackson.

-- In June, after the LIVE in Japan's Tokyo Dome, Jaejoong cried as he came down the stage.

JJ: Before we did the performances at the Tokyo Dome, we also had a round of LIVES at Osaka. In Osaka, I started crying from the very first song. All the things that we couldn't express in words were expressed through our expressions. After we sang the last song at the Tokyo Dome, the fans started shouting "Don't cry", and that was when the tears came. It wasn't for the past nor the future; those tears were to express the sadness (I felt) for the present situation.

-- Are there any idols among the Korean idols that have caught your eye?

YC: I've been really busy lately so I haven't really been watching TV. Although I've only heard their song and not seen them on TV, it seems like Miss A surpasses (the rest) in terms of ability.

-- Your resolution henceforth.

YC: We were able to hold mics and stand on stage, as well as meet our fans again. From now on when we release a second album, or when we release albums in future, I hope that people will have the thought of always wanting to listen to our songs. I'm really happy that I've been so busy during this period of time. I would be happy if it's the same in future.

[NEWS] 101013 Warner Music Korea delays JYJ’s album release

JYJ’s first official album, “The Beginning”, will have a delay of its release date.

Originally scheduled for release on October 14th, the album will be delayed indefinitely due to an internal problem.

A representative of Warner Music Korea stated on the 13th, “Due to problems with the album pre-orders and its sales, we will be delaying the release date. It won’t be delayed too long.”

SM Entertainment recently filed an injunction at the Seoul Central District Court against the trio. On the 13th, representatives of SM Entertainment stated, “The lawsuit surrounding their contracts has yet to even reach a decision, and yet the three members have signed a contract with CJES Entertainment. This double contract is a violation against the conclusion drawn last October.”

He went on to state, “We have filed an injunction at the Seoul Central District Court on the 8th to suspend their contract with CJES Entertainment, and to prohibit the sales of any albums to be released.”

Is this delay the result of a lapse in judgment from the boys, or does it demonstrate a more nefarious intention from SM Entertainment?

[NEWS] 101013 KFPCAI Sends Out Official Letters of Request to Broadcasting Stations to Prevent JYJ's TV Promotions

After the news of SM Entertainment filing a provisional ban on JYJ’s first new album, ‘The Beginning‘, as well as filing an exclusive contract suspension injunction between JYJ and their contracted company, CJ Entertainment, it was also recently confirmed that on October 11th, official letters of request were sent to three public broadcasting stations, one cable broadcasting station, and other various online album distribution sites to refrain JYJ from making appearances on shows and halt album sales.

On October 12th, a fan of JYJ wrote on an internet open board, “I work at a cable broadcasting station, and I heard that the ‘Korean Federation of Pop Culture and Art Industry (KFPCAI)‘ sent out official letters to both the public and cable broadcasting stations.” According to this fan, the official letter of request contained information stating that as JYJ may harm the effect of Korea’s Hallyu Wave, they state they will not be responsible for any disadvantages caused by their appearances on their shows.

This information was later directly confirmed by an associate of the KFPCAI, and has since been spreading at lightning speed on Twitter and various internet communities, currently causing a great deal of concern amongst JYJ’s fans.

A representative from the ‘Korean Entertainment Producers Association’, which is one of eight major associations in the KFPCAI, explained, “We are not siding with SM Entertainment, but we are aware of JYJ currently holding onto a dual contract. This situation has risen because their exclusive contract problem with SM Entertainment has not yet fully been resolved by the law.”

The representative continued, “Whether it was the company that mistreated the group, or the group created the problem, we do not know. That is a separate issue in itself. However if we let this ‘dual contract’ issue pass, what agency would even want to raise their artists?” He stated they are not sure when exactly the group decided to separate from the company and walk their own path, however they are merely just speaking opinions on behalf of the industry.

He added, “DBSK had a huge effect on the Hallyu Wave and on other idol groups walking their own paths, but for the group to separate is the same as throwing cold water on the numerous agencies preparing hard to advance overseas.” The representative also explained that the group’s separation has the potential to damage the reputation of the idol groups who have already successfully advanced into the Japan market.

In addition, through JYJ’s album distributors, Warner Bros, KFPCAI will also be sending out requests to postpone album sales on music sites such as Melon and Dosirak.

Prain, who are JYJ’s PR agency, revealed on October 13th, “They have been so busy all of yesterday and today with their showcase that they have not been able to look into the official letters that were sent out. However they don’t believe it is something to worry too much about.” With regards to SM’s provisional ban request against their new album, Prain said, “We are still currently trying to understand the exact information details on that matter. We will be exchanging discussions with the group’s management company, CJ Entertainment, later this evening.”

Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu, the trio from TVXQ who formed a new group JYJ, will have to put a brake on their activities. SM Entertainment (henceforth SM) has filed for a temporary injunction to put a ban on the sale of JYJ’s new album 「The Beginning」.
