[NEWS] 101015 SM Puts More Pressure on Former TVXQ members

SM Entertainment continues to disrupt the debut of the three breakaway members of TVXQ, one of Korea’s most popular boy bands. JYJ is comprised of Jae-joong, Yu-chun and Jun-su.

On Oct. 8, SM Entertainment filed an injunction with a Seoul court to stop the release of “The Beginning,” and filed a suspension on exclusive contract with C-JES Entertainment.

C-JES Entertainment is a Korean agency that is now managing JYJ. SM Entertainment recently complained, saying that signing a contract with C-JES Entertainment amounts to holding an unfair double contract.

SM Entertainment also continues its attempt to stop JYJ’s debut in other countries. Sports Korea recently reported that SM Entertainment has sent files of complaint to the head quarter in United States of JYJ’s distributor, WarnerMusic Korea. “The Beginning” is recorded entirely in English and is supposedly to be released in several countries worldwide.

The Korean Federation of Pop Culture and Art Industry has sent letters to TV stations KBS, SBS and MBC and cable network Mnet, and Korean online music sites and asked them not to allow JYJ to appear on their shows and sell the digital albums.

However, Korean online music sites defied the letter and released the digital copies of JYJ’s “The Beginning” album on Oct 14. The songs in the album entered the top 10 on real-time music charts.

This coincidence is a greater source of despair for JYJ members, as they had to cancel 500 albums reserved before their showcase on Oct. 12. Since their showcase, Korea Sports has reported that there were absolutely no signs of JYJ’s on any television channels.

JYJ previously planned to have showcases in other countries to meet their worldwide fans for their debut. However, an ongoing dispute with SM Entertainment over legal issues related to their contract; it might take a while before the trio can perform without restraints.

[TRANS] 100910 Supernova Thanks TVXQ In Interview

(omitted)

Supernova compared the differences between idol groups in Korea and Japan and stated that different things are expected from each country. While Korea focuses on the musical aspect of idols, the Japanese focus on the variety show quality of idols. Therefore, this difference makes Korean idol groups a refreshing change for the Japanese who accept them as true musicians. Supernova pointed out that the best example of this is TVXQ.

"It is all thanks to our seniors TVXQ that we're getting so much love from Japan. It should be known that TVXQ changed the Japanese perception of Korean idol groups and because of this, it has become easier to debut in Japan because the people there now pay more attention to K-pop."

[TRANS] Next lifetime... let's not have TVXQ.

I trans-ed this because I believe that this is what all of us should be doing-- keeping our faith and hoping for the best. If you have the time, please read through this. It will truly reach your heart.

TVXQ, I miss you all.
I really really do.
I miss you. I miss TVXQ.
In this lifetime, I cherish you with all my heart, with all my might.
However, let's not have TVXQ in the next lifetime.
Not because my love has changed--I can't love you any less-- its because I can't bear to see you getting hurt anymore.
So... in the next lifetime, let's not have TVXQ.

Kim Jaejoong.
The innocent one with impeccable features.
Why did you have to go through so much like no others?
Why do you keep wearing a smile even when you are down?
Why did you get criticized by anti for all your hard-work?
Kim Jaejoong. Let's not be this "Kim jaejoong" in your next lifetime.
So that you can live normally.
You can go out with your beloved.
You don't have to breakup with your lover for the sake of your dream, your debut.
Kim Jaejoong. I love you dearly.

Kim Jaejoong.
In this life, how much did you sacrifice in exchange for this "Kim Jaejoong," for what you have right now?
Kim Jaejoong, why are you still singing when you need to cry?
Kim Jaejoong, why can't you ever let the tears out?
Kim Jaejoong is an idiot.
But I love this idiot, and my heart aches for this idiot.

Jaejoong, let's not be the same "Kim Jaejoong" next time.
Be a normal person,
A blissful one with his own happiness.
Don't bear so much pain
Don't be as exhausted as you are now.
Kim Jaejoong, I love you forever.
However, I won't love you in our next life;
because all i want is to witness your happiness... Kim Babo.

Yunho,
you are the leader,
So it's a given that you must endure more than others.
Jung Yunho, are you still well?
I haven't seen you around recently.
Are you still alright?
Jung Yunho, is the company treating you right? How about the people around you, are they?
Jung Yunho, I wish you all the best.

Yunho, you deserve your title.
I know you want to show us a strong image.
But you will wear out in time if you keep on forcing back the tears by biting your finger.
Yunho, please cry next time when you need to.
We promise we won't look at you any differently.
Other than the love we shower upon you, our heart aches for you a lot more.

Jung Yunho, let's not be so handsome in your next life.
Be a normal person, not TVXQ's leader-sshi.
Don't be weary of harmful substance purposely put in your drinks.
Don't worry about the media catching you smoking.
You can share a kiss with your lover down the street.
You can have as many sons to make a soccer team.
You can fulfill a lot without being attentive of your actions.
Jung Yunho, be a different "Jung Yunho" in your next life.

Park Yoochun,
a stunning man to the world with a mere turn of your head.
Someone who is full of emotions and gentle smiles.
One who cares for his brother, Yoohwan.
One who whines on the floor because dancing is just too much sometimes.
One who captures millions and millions of woman's heart.
Park Yoochun, you've received a lot of love with the prize of overworking yourself.
So... let's not be the same "Park Yoochun" in your next life.

Park Yoochun. Ever since I started loving you, your smile has been my favorite.
But I don't like seeing the fake smile you put on for us.
Park Yoochun, if you are to be a different "Park Yoochun" in your next life,
You will be a lot more blissful, right?
If you aren't the same "Park Yoochun,"
Then you don't have to go through so much
And there's no need to cry when Yoohawn wants to enter the entertainment industry.
You don't have to attend social parties just because you have to.
The "Park Yoochun" in next lifetime have to be blissful.

Park Yoochun. Park Yoochun.
Next life, you must live in a small, peaceful town with your beloved happily ever after.
You must continue protecting your brother.
You must have an obedient, smart daughter.
You must not be the same "Park Yoochun" as you are now.

Kim Junsu,
you have the best smile that I adore.
It really does resemble the sun and its warmth.
Junsu, too much pain was put upon you.
The voice change that went on for six year must've had been difficult to live through.
Thank you for not giving up.
Kim Junsu, I love you forever.

Kim Junsu, I like the very first smile you wore.
Even without the charisma, it was pure enough to make one's heart beating frantically.
I like your single-lidded, tiny eyes.
Just love, love, love your everything.
But this idiot has been working too hard.
In the next lifetime, let's not be the "Kim Junsu" you are right now.

Junsu, be joyful in your next life.
Perhaps that Junsu won't receive love from as many people, but his wife will love him and will forever stay by his side.
For that, I am content.
Kim Junsu, there won't be as many people loving you,
But your family and friends, for sure, will.
Junsu, your next life, has to be flushed with joy.

Shim Changmin,
the makenae we love the most.
Having an undefeatable and vicious tongue,
Yet you have a tender heart.
You treasure your 4 hyungs more than any other people.
With a beautifully sculpted side profile,
You are a youngster always willing to learn.
Because of the rumors circulating around your debut,
You haven't had a girlfriend.
You are a youth who likes to eat.
A youth whom I hold close to my heart.

Changmin, you are all grown up now,
With the strength in your eyes, and the confidence in your voice and dancing.
Never again are you as shy as before,
you've slowly advanced to become a star.
However, all that was built upon by tears.
Shim Changmin, once upon a time, you couldn't sleep since you were afraid of offending some seniors.
But this won't happen in your next life,
Because that "Shim Changmin" won't be the same as this "Shim Changmin."

Shim Changmin, you have to cry less in your next life.
You will successfully finished school with a steady occupation,
Then marry a pure, wonderful woman and welcome the birth of your son.
You don't have to be pressured by the company,
You can do whatever you want
The "Shim Changmin" in the next lifetime, you have to be content.

TVXQ. There will be no TVXQ in our next life.
I have loved too deep, hurt too much.
I will return the peaceful world to you.
You can do whatever you want.
You can be with whomever you want, holding hands down the street.
You can smoke when you feel the need to.
You can cry a little less.
Just be blessed, be happy a little more.

TVXQ, you won't be "TVXQ" in your next lifetime.
There's no need to suffer,
no need to do what you don't like,
no need to dance when you are drained out,
no need to break through your limit.

no need... to overcome this sorrow you are experiencing.

TVXQ, you won't be "TVXQ" in your next lifetime.
And I wont' be a Cassiopeia.
By chance maybe we will meet down the street, our shoulders brushing past.
Yet, in this lifetime,
I fell for you...
Fell for the rest of my life, without any regrets.

In this life, till my heart stops beating,
I will continue waiting for the day when the 5 of you will return.
TVXQ, I must love you forever.

[TRANS] 100522 Cassiopeia, SM and DBSK’s Trio’s “Plea for Reconciliation Signature Campaign”

The “Plea for Reconciliation Signature Campaign” among Cassiopeia, DBSK’s Micky Yoochun, Xiah Junsu, Youngwoong JaeJoong and SM Entertainment (otherwise known as SM) has officially begun.

A DBSK fan from Japan spoke on the afternoon on the 21st on minitoday star news, expressing that, “For the DBSK whom we have cared about and supported so much, the online signature campaign asking for a negotiation of settlement between DBSK’s trio and SM has begun.”

The association also mentioned, “With an 80,000 strong fan club membership, and such a large-scale fan daum, when faced with the crisis of a sudden dissolution of DBSK, nothing brings more anguish to the fans than this issue. We hope the three members and SM will be able to settle their differences and have a successful negotiation, so that DBSK’s activities can resume.”

There are the Korean, Japanese, Chinese and English versions on the website of the signature campaign. This campaign is not just limited to local fans in Korea, but international DBSK fans are also allowed to participate!

This campaign was started based on the unconditional trust placed upon the numerous fans of DBSK, along with a minority of fans who may have a different thinking and opinion.

The purpose of initiating this campaign is not to ask for a termination of the contract of the three members, but to get them and SM to coordinate for a more sensible solution.

In addition, based on the first public trial between the three members and SM company held on the 7th, if both sides still remains unchanged in their stand, the differences between them will still not be resolved.

DBSK’s three members had submitted an application of deposition to the Seoul Central District Court on 31st July 2009 regarding the termination of the exclusive contract with SM.

Furtheremore, the following part of the decision cited the Department on 27th October 2009 that “SM is not allowed to stop DBSK’s activities unilaterally. SM’s objection regarding the solo activities of DBSK was also rejected.”

T/N: The website for the online campaign was not included in this article.

[TRANS] 100101 TVXQ to Disband Officially? SM, "Groundless rumors"

Japanese press reports on TVXQ officially disbanding have shocked many fans.

On the 1st, Sports Nippon reported that "Korean band TVXQ is disbanding at the height of their popularity". It also reported that the relationship between SM and Jaechunsu has soured and it is impossble for the two to reconcilliate. They've now gone into discussions to disband the group.

This news hit the main page of Yahoo Japan's entertainment news, showing TVXQ's great popularity in Japan. TVXQ attended the 60th NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen on the 31st

Sports Nippon reported that although TVXQ stood on stage together that day, the relationship between the 3 members and the other 2 didn't seem good; and although they share the same dressing room, they go back to Korea on different flights.

It also claimed that the single to be released on the 27th will be their last single and they'll release a best collection album on the 17th next month.

SM Entertainment's reponse to the report was "Those are groundless rumours' 'We didn't start any procedures for an official disbandment' A representative said "We haven't decided on our future plans for TVXQ"

[INFO] 091231 TVXQ Disbanding is False?

Only moments ago we reported on male sensation TVXQ, and their plans for disbanding in the new year. The source was from a Japanese article and SM Entertainment has yet to release a full legitimate statement, but things didn't look so good when Japan reported some unfortunate news.

A reporter said that tension within the group has become so high and bad that it's reached its limit, saying that Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu showed more passion to perform than the other two as they seem to have lost the will to go on. Even worse, the reporter stated that, "Currently the three have begun their activities with a new agency and the remaining SM members are forbidden from contacting the other three."

Plans for TVXQ was to apparently begin promotions for their last single BREAK OUT! on the 27th of January, and to release their last album on February 17th with one final goodbye concert in June.

However, SM Entertainment did not give a long detailed official statement but quickly replied to the situation by saying, "The reporter's statements are false. There are no plans of disbanding." But another source stated that, "Nothing has yet been officially decided."

There's much confusion going around and no doubt it's got fans very anxious. But could this be another foreign misinterpretation? Not too long ago, Chinese reporters said many false things about the the Hankyung lawsuit and this could be merely just another false rumor from a foreign country that didn't know any better.

[RUMOUR] 091231 TVXQ Has Officially Disbanded?

According to Yahoo! Japan, as of December 31, 2009, TVXQ has finally disbanded. We're going to start the new year with a pretty depressing note.

Though fans have been doubting this news or staying in denial, Japanese reports have stated that these boys are absolutely finished. No longer are the days when the boys traveled together, have any sort of interaction, or even react with one another back stage! Since the break of the news about trouble in paradise for the boys, there has been little to no interaction among them at all. The boys have been using separate dressing rooms or setting up walls to avoid contact with one another. Apparently, BREAK OUT will be their final single to be released and the boys will be releasing their BEST album in February. Finally, a final goodbye concert is to be held sometime in June. It is implied that after these events take place, the boys will end their relationship with one another as the group TVXQ.

However, fans that still want to keep their faith alive, there has been no official news released by the boys, AVEX, nor SM Entertainment. Is it Yahoo! Japan being unnecessarily dramatic or is there some truth to this? We'll find out soon enough.

[NEWS] 091231 TVXQ Performs at Kouhaku

Last year at this time, the boys of TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki were bestowed the honor of performing on NHK's prestigious Kohaku. For those that don't know what Kohaku is and how it's such a big deal, here's an excerpt from wikipedia which explains it pretty well:

"Kohaku Uta Gassen more commonly known as simply Kohaku, is an annual music show on the New Year's Eve produced by Japanese public broadcaster NHK and broadcast on both television and radio, nationally and internationally by NHK's networks and some overseas (mainly cable) broadcasters which bought the program... Literally "Red and White Song Battle," the program divides the most popular music artists of the year into competing teams of red and white. The "red" team or akagumi is composed of all female artists (or groups with female vocals), while the "white" team or shirogumi is all male (or groups with male vocals). The honor of performing on Kohaku is strictly by invitation, so only the most successful J-POP artists and enka singers can perform. Even today, a performance on Kohaku is said to be a big highlight in a singer's career because of the show's large reach."

Last month the boys were invited once again and earlier today they sang their hit single Stand By U. Despite what they're going through they put on an excellent performance.

[INFO] TVXQ Attending TBS’ Year-End Program For The Third Year

TVXQ will attend Japan's TBS CDTV Premiere Live for the third year.

Through a message on their official Japanese website, TVXQ has confirmed that it will attend the year-end program on the 31st from 11:45PM to 5AM. They spent their last moments of 2007 and 2008 here as well, so it's essentially a tradition for the group.

Despite the issues that TVXQ has with SM Entertainment, their Japanese company Avex has a full schedule for them. The quintet will be attending the Japan Record Awards on the 30th and will also be attending NHK's program on the 31st, which is before the TBS program.

[TRANS] 091229 TVXQ Strictly Guarded - Entered Hall After "Interview

「The 60th NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen Rehearsal」 (29th、NHK Hall)

Korea's popular group Tohoshinki, who is attending Kouhaku Uta Gassen for the second consecutive time in two years, also attended the rehearsals held on the 29th. In the midst of disbanding rumours, their rehearsal was not revealed to the press. The 5 members were unable to respond to interviews, and the mood was one of high alert.

On the Internet, fans have been expressing their worries - "This might be the last Kouhaku Uta Gassen where you can see all 5 of them together." In the midst of that, the 5 members of Tohoshinki participated in the rehearsal held at NHK Hall, at 7pm, which was after the "interview period".

Press coverage at the venue ended at 6pm. During the rehearsal, at the time when the press was shut out of the venue, an official from AVEX warded the queries of the media and only explained that "it was due to their schedules". In the end, their stage was not revealed, the members could not meet the press, and there was a tense mood all around.

Tohoshinki will be attending the TBS 「Japan Record Awards」 on the 30th and TBS 「Countdown TV」 on the 31st. There has been no announcement for any schedule that will take place from 1 January onwards. The members arrived in Japan a few days ago, but AVEX declined to disclose whether they came together, as well as other similar queries.

Rumours of disbanding emerged in July when the 3 members, Jejung, Junsu and Yuchun, came into conflict with their management company over their exclusive contracts. They attracted a lot of overseas attention when the 5 of them did not perform together in Korea even once, after the outbreak of the conflict, but continued to appear on Japanese television. However, in the middle of this month, an event that was planned to be held in Japan in January (10 performaces) was suddenly cancelled, and the fan's worries about their disbandment grew even more.

It has not been decided yet, as to whether or not they will be having promotions for the remaining contract they still have with 「Oronamin C Drink」, their new single 「BREAK OUT!」 which will be released on 27 January, and their 'Best Album' which will be released on 17 February.

The fans' wish for the New Year is "peaceful settlement". They'll be keeping a close watch on whether or not the year-end performances will be their last.

[TRANS] 091201 Action-Restraint- Authority Etc... The 2009 Fandom

.
.

(ommited)

Another happening occurred as three members of TVXQ, YoungWoong Jaejoong, Micky Yoochun and Xiah Junsu, stated that their contract with SM Entertainment was unlawful.

The three members filed for an exclusive contract suspension request, and received a verdict on October 27th that, "SM must not set new activities without the consent of TVXQ. SM cannot interfere with any individual activities the members of TVXQ may want to pursue." However, SM refuted this in a press conference that, "This is a nationwide scam that is packaging human rights and slave contracts as the main problem of this situation."

Many have begun to predict that the two sides will part with the forged signature controversy that erupted with the note of confirmation of the Shenzhen concert in China.

However, the people taking the most active stance in this dispute between the three members and SM Entertainment, is the 800,000 member fanclub 'Cassiopeia'. After this dispute began, they began boycotting SM while stating their reasons and what goods were to be boycotted. The reasons for boycotting span three pages of A4 sized paper and are as follows: the cancellation of 'SM Town Live 09', the unchanged attitude of SM Entertainment regardless of the numerous complaints by fans, and the unlawfulness of the TVXQ contract.

Cassiopeia stated, "SM Entertainment stated that they would continue on with the concert regardless of the legal dispute with the three members of TVXQ over their exclusive contract. However, a week before the concert, SM indefinitely postponed the concert giving a reason that, 'It is impossible for the singers to be united in the concert because of the TVXQ legal dispute.' This is an act that does not even consider the basic consideration that should be given to the consumer who bought tickets." Fans also pointed out, "They used the fact that we were fans to produce quantity more than quality with many goods containing similar contents and they completely ignored the complaints of the fans and the rights we have as consumers."

After that, the fanclub held an offline and online petition that collected around 188,000 signatures from people who were against unlawful contracts, and submitted this to the Seoul District Courts under the name 'People Against SM's Unlawful Contract'. They also visited the Human Rights Commission and submitted a petition urging the commission to work hard to eradicate the contract of clauses that violated human rights. Some state that the three members of TVXQ were able to receive a partial acceptance of their request by the Courts because of the actions of the fans.

These two events cemented the fans' position as 'consumers' with authority. Also, they showed the entertainment agencies that idol group members were not mere 'products' to admire, but were 'people' who could be moved by the power of the fans.

One entertainment representative recognized the consumer power of the fanclubs by stating, "Fans do not have control over the creation of groups, individual activities or the act of a member leaving the group," and "However, entertainment agencies do feel the pressure of the fans' wants. This is because fans are what keep a group and an entertainment agency alive."

Not only that, we have BoA and Dong Bang Shin Ki who are doing strong up on the chart as well.

BoA’s 28th Japanese single ‘Bump Bump!’ is ranked #8 on the weekly chart as of 3rd November. And Dong Bang Shin Ki’s live concert DVD is up #1 on the Oricon DVD conbined chart, and their ‘History in Japan Volume 4′ is also up #3 on the chart.

A music industry expert said, “BoA and Dong Bang Shin Ki have already gained much of a name in the Japanese music market. And Ryu ShiWon has also done so through his dramas and was hailed as one of the top Hallyu stars in Japan. So the response to his album will be good as soon as he releases a new album. And for Big Bang’s case, even though they are newcomers here, their unique music and significant fanbase present will promote the album sales.”
