I went to the award ceremony of the 51th Japan Record Award.
Of course, I was awarded of the Excellent Work Prize with Tohoshinki’s “Stand by U”.
Last year, I was awarded of the prize as Lambsey (T/N: A unit of Inoue and Yuki Yamashita), and since I was participating as a father/uncle/elder brother of Yuki, I was able to keep calm.
But for this year, I was alone, and was a little bit nervous.
Well, all the people around me were strangers, I should do something with my shyness in front of them.
Oh, I was able to meet UTA-san and REO-san, who composed “Stand by U”.
If I still called myself SJR, we 3 persons will be 3 character romaji names… happy (Lol)

I am sorry that the place was busy, and we 3 could not take pictures together.
I wish there will be another chance in the future.

I was cowering in front of these leading figures, but I was able to meet Junpei Kokubo, the staffs and directors from Toshiba EMI. I am grateful that I participated in this song.

And.. I am performing this song now in street lives and Fujisawa.. as a celebration, can Lambsey sing this song!? Can we perform this song in CLUB CITTA!!!???

[TRANS] 100102 Word of Thanks from 'Stand by U' Lyricist

This year, at TBS’s Japan Record Awards, TVXQ’s Stand By U, which I’ve wrote the lyrics for, was awarded “Best Song”.

Last year, my works for this group, bolero and doushite kimi wo suki ni natte shimattandarou, plus this year’s won this award two years in a roll, it is an amazing honor.

To my fans, related staff members, composer UTA+REO, and the ones without them there wouldn’t be this award-TVXQ members, my deep appreciation for all you you.

Really, all because of TVXQ. They are currently facing problems, fans and surrounding staffs as well.

With the occasional happiness and sometimes are worries, they became a group that is representative of Asia.

In the activity, I want to wholeheartedly express, the best wishes to them all.

Recenly, CD sales are reducing. This year there isn’t an absolute hit song, from now on must write works from the bottom of our harts, one day I can reborn from “lyricist” to “popular songs manufacturer”, from today, I will put a lot of attention to writing music, hopefully everyone will support me!

[NEWS] 091214 6 Million Copies of TVXQ Albums Sold

The preliminary report was out, recorded that the male group TVXQ has been selling 6 million copies album throughout their career both in South Korea and Japan.

The report announced that after the accumulation of sales from TVXQ’s Japan and South Korea studio album, special album, singles, and DVD, it was figured that the total sales reached 6 million copies. The result also includes the aggregate information of sales record from the international fans.

Eventhough it’s only an informal record, however it still proves the special figure of TVXQ as Asia best group.

Taking a look to TVXQ history in Korea for the last 5 years, the sales record of TVXQ 4th album ‘MIROTIC’ which broke 500,000 copies definitely stands out. For exact, the 4th album recorded sales for 540,000 copies. Total singles and album sales, including the 4th album is 2.058.000 copies, special albums recorded 283.000 copies, and Japan licensed album which is sold in Korea results in 525.000 copies, sums total of record sales for 2.866.000 copies overall in Korea alone.

Japanese sales record history is even more interesting. From the very first single released in Japan in November 2004, ‘Stay With Me Tonight’ to the latest 29th single release in last September from Jejung & Yuchun, ‘COLORS ~ Melody & Harmony~’, the group has recorded total sales of 1.788.000. In addition, the 4 released Japan albums and other special albums add 572.000 copies sold.

In fact, on last December 10th Japan largest TV cable USEN announced its annual broadcast rank and according to ‘USEN J-POP Comprehensive Annual Ranking’ (aggregate period of January 2nd to December 3rd), TVXQ’s ‘Stand by U’ was ranked the 2nd after Japan rookie singer JASMINE’s ‘Sad to Say’.

It’s not only that. In total 16 DVDs that are released both in Japan and South Korea, it records total number 774.000 copies sales.

If the entire total number of sales are calculated together, it results in 6.000.000 copies sold. While the calculation system is not thoroughly comparing all the album sales charts in Japan as well as considering the South Korea problem occurring, it’s believed that the sales number is likely to exceed 6 million.

TBS CDTV’s Album [CDTV No.1 Hits], to be released on 12 December, will include 4 of Tohoshinki’s songs: Beautiful You, Why Did I Like You?, Jumon-Mirotic and Purple Line.

In addition, the special edition book “Tohoshinki Sights and Sounds” and their new single “BREAK OUT!” will be released on 7 January 2010 and 27 January 2010 respectively.

[NEWS] 091202 TVXQ Selected As The Japan Record Taisho

TVXQ is selected to be the candidate of the grand prix award winner of "Japan Record Taisyo (Award)".


The Korea finance and economy newspaper reports:

The No. 51 Japan Record Grand Prix Award, (sponsorship, by the Japanese Composer Association), had chosen "Standby U" of "TVXQ" to recieve the "Excellent Best Music Award", and also sellected them to be the candidate of the "Grand Prix Winner".

TVXQ had won the "Excellent Best Music Award" last year with their hit song, "Doshite Kimiwo Sukininatte Shimattandaro". That records TVXQ to recieve this award for the two consecutive years sequentially. The announcement was made on December 1st, 2009.

W-inds featuring G-Dragon, "Rain Is Fallin" won the "Excellent Best Music Award" as well, and it was also chosen as a grand prix candidate.

There are 11 excellent winner of the "Best Music Award" and other competitors are such as "Someday" of EXILE, and "Lick me" of Kumi Koda.

The No. 51 Japan Record Award is going to be broadcasted live at TBS at 6:30 PM on December 30th.

[TRANS] 091202 TVXQ Receives Award For 2nd Time @ Jap Records

Popular groups TVXQ has won an award at the Japanese Record Awards that looks at the accumulative of the year's Japanese music industry.

According to the 51st Japanese Records Awards (run by the Japanese Composers' Association) awards list, TVXQ's 'Stand By U' has been awarded the 'Premium Award', which puts the song as a nominee for the coveted Japanese Record Award Grand Prix which awards the singer and the production team of a song. This is the group's second 'Premium Award' after winning the same award last year for 'どうして君を好きになってしまったんだろう？'.

'Rain Is Fallin' of three member group W-inds, which features Big Bang's G-Dragon, also won the award as well.

The 11 nominees for the highly coveted Grand Prix, including EXILE's 'Someday' and Koda Kumi's 'Lick me', will perform live on the 30th, at 6:30pm on TBS-TV before the award is given out.
