[TRANS] 100108 "They did not divide into 3-2 at Kouhaku rehearsal", said Komai Chikako, YTV Miyaneya reporter

Komai Chikako is an entertainment TV reporter who works for a YTV's program called Miyaneya, the one that Tohoshinki made an appearance on the day of Best Hits Song Festival. On 1/8, when Miyaneya was having a discussion about Tohoshinki's disbanding rumor on TV, Komai Chikako voiced out what she had seen at Kouhaku's backstage.

"People have been saying that their dressing room was divided by a curtain, and that they came back to the dressing in 3-2 groups at Kouhaku rehearsal; but according to what I saw with my own eyes, there was no such thing as 3-2. They were together as 5 all the times; and even when they had to line up, they didn't split it into 3-2. The 3 who are in dispute with their company right now entered the space between the other 2, and they lined up as 5. The media has been reporting that Jaejoong had an expression that looked like he did not want to answer their questions, but at that time, he was wearing a hood over his head, so it was hard to see his expression..." [T/N: what she meant is that since Jaejoong's facial expression could not be seen clearly, the media just assumed that he was in a bad mood]

[NEWS] 091231 TVXQ Performs at Kouhaku

Last year at this time, the boys of TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki were bestowed the honor of performing on NHK's prestigious Kohaku. For those that don't know what Kohaku is and how it's such a big deal, here's an excerpt from wikipedia which explains it pretty well:

"Kohaku Uta Gassen more commonly known as simply Kohaku, is an annual music show on the New Year's Eve produced by Japanese public broadcaster NHK and broadcast on both television and radio, nationally and internationally by NHK's networks and some overseas (mainly cable) broadcasters which bought the program... Literally "Red and White Song Battle," the program divides the most popular music artists of the year into competing teams of red and white. The "red" team or akagumi is composed of all female artists (or groups with female vocals), while the "white" team or shirogumi is all male (or groups with male vocals). The honor of performing on Kohaku is strictly by invitation, so only the most successful J-POP artists and enka singers can perform. Even today, a performance on Kohaku is said to be a big highlight in a singer's career because of the show's large reach."

Last month the boys were invited once again and earlier today they sang their hit single Stand By U. Despite what they're going through they put on an excellent performance.

[TRANS] 091231 Tohoshinki at the Kouhaku Rehearsal

Kouhaku: Tohoshinki appeared as 5, they held rehearsals shutting out the media

The Korean dance and vocal group Tohoshinki appeared as 5 in December 30, for the rehearsal for the year end NHK "Kouhaku". It was a very tight security, all the media was shut out. We media were able to see the rehearsal from the monitor screen. The 5 members hardly looked at each other while singing "Stand by U".

Tohoshinki’s activities in Korea has stopped since Jaejoong (23), Yoochun (23), and Junsu (22) had filed against their Korean management company SM Entertainment regarding their exclusive contract in late July. The five performed together after 3 months’ susupension in “Best Hits Music Festival 2009” at “Kobe World Hall” in November. On this occasion, the 3 members who have filed the suit and Yunho (23) & Changmin (21) traveled on different planes.

Other than the Kouhaku, the five will perform in “Japan Record Award” (TBS) on Dec 30, and also scheduled to have a live performance in the “CDTV SPECIAL! New Year’s Eve Live 2009 → 2010”. Though they have cancelled the fan club meeting scheduled to be held in Janauary, they will release a new single “BREAK OUT!” on January 27. They will also release their first best album on February 17. Their activities afterwards in Japan are not fixed yet.

T/N: There were similar information posted in other sites (from different sources), but since this is from the credible source Mainichi Shimbun (one of the largest daily newspapers in Japan) website, I’ve translated the article again.

T/N2: Everyone, please calm down. I should have added the following statement when I posted the news.
Well, it seems that at last the news of the 5 members in some trouble is leaking out from the Japanese media. Though I personally think that most of them are fake (as with the woman's tabloids the other day), they keep placing such articles, since when you put the name of "Tohoshinki" in the articles, everyone is eager to read them, however fake or true. I am sad to say, but Tohoshinki are money makers in Japan, and since their news are of hot topics, naturally, many media (including credible sources) jump on them.

[TRANS] 091229 TVXQ Strictly Guarded - Entered Hall After "Interview

「The 60th NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen Rehearsal」 (29th、NHK Hall)

Korea's popular group Tohoshinki, who is attending Kouhaku Uta Gassen for the second consecutive time in two years, also attended the rehearsals held on the 29th. In the midst of disbanding rumours, their rehearsal was not revealed to the press. The 5 members were unable to respond to interviews, and the mood was one of high alert.

On the Internet, fans have been expressing their worries - "This might be the last Kouhaku Uta Gassen where you can see all 5 of them together." In the midst of that, the 5 members of Tohoshinki participated in the rehearsal held at NHK Hall, at 7pm, which was after the "interview period".

Press coverage at the venue ended at 6pm. During the rehearsal, at the time when the press was shut out of the venue, an official from AVEX warded the queries of the media and only explained that "it was due to their schedules". In the end, their stage was not revealed, the members could not meet the press, and there was a tense mood all around.

Tohoshinki will be attending the TBS 「Japan Record Awards」 on the 30th and TBS 「Countdown TV」 on the 31st. There has been no announcement for any schedule that will take place from 1 January onwards. The members arrived in Japan a few days ago, but AVEX declined to disclose whether they came together, as well as other similar queries.

Rumours of disbanding emerged in July when the 3 members, Jejung, Junsu and Yuchun, came into conflict with their management company over their exclusive contracts. They attracted a lot of overseas attention when the 5 of them did not perform together in Korea even once, after the outbreak of the conflict, but continued to appear on Japanese television. However, in the middle of this month, an event that was planned to be held in Japan in January (10 performaces) was suddenly cancelled, and the fan's worries about their disbandment grew even more.

It has not been decided yet, as to whether or not they will be having promotions for the remaining contract they still have with 「Oronamin C Drink」, their new single 「BREAK OUT!」 which will be released on 27 January, and their 'Best Album' which will be released on 17 February.

The fans' wish for the New Year is "peaceful settlement". They'll be keeping a close watch on whether or not the year-end performances will be their last.

[TRANS] 091123 Kouhaku 2009: TVXQ IS IN! Bigbang Not

[TRANS] 091123 Kouhaku 2009: TVXQ IS IN! Bigbang Not
[YT/TRANS] Naughty TVXQ at Kouhaku 2008 + Best Hits Kayousai

(Do you spot Big Bang's name on the screen?)

TVXQ is in, Big Bang not chosen

Around 03:02, they announce the name of TVXQ (東方神起) as a chosen performer of Kohaku 2009,
but interestingly, Mezamashi TV had already placed a flower on TVXQ's name.
So, they must have known about TVXQ's appearance at Kohaku 2009 already. ^^

Big Bang had mentioned many times in their interviews in Japan that
their wish in Japan is to perform at Kohaku this year.
However, they did not make it.
(In clip, we can spot Big Bang's name on the list,
and they had a special "watch" mark in front of their name.)

Everyone knows that Big Bang's members are talented performers.
(And we wish for them to make it next year, along with TVXQ, right? ^^)
It's just that being selected to perform at Kohaku is something very special in Japan.
Like Jero who made it to Kohaku for the first time with TVXQ last year;
he openly shared his dream in life to perform at Kohaku and he cried there.

Jero on Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jero

So, for the Japanese TV stations and the newspaper companies to predict TVXQ's Kohaku
appearance undoubtedly is indeed an amazing news itself. ^^

Let us look forward to TVXQ's performances to come one after another in Japan
starting this coming Wednesday! Yeah!! ^^
Below is the program TVXQ will attend on Wedensday.

[YT/TRANS] Best Hits Kayotaisho: TVXQ won a "Gold Artist Award" in 2008

Translation: TVXQ part

MC: TVXQ! Wow, lots of cheers for them.
MC: How many times did you travel between Japan and Korea, Mr. Yunho?
YH: Yes, we released an album in Korea, we released albums in Japan,
so we traveled around 20 times or so. We also had concerts.
MC: Wow, 20 times?! But it must be rewarding to travel around.
YH: Yes, it was fun.
MC: Okay then please get ready to perform.
They are amazing, both in Japan and Korea, they are so popular.
Yes, indeed. Okay then, TVXQ please perform.

"Doushite Kimi wo Suki ni Natte Shimattan Darou"

Naughty TVXQ at Kohaku 2008

Here is Kohaku TVXQ talk from 2008 with Chinese subs.
They are not supposed to laugh here. Naughty TVXQ! LOL

Translation:

MC: Any comments? Mr. Junsu?
Junsu: I am looking forward to it, a big costume.
00:15: JJ and CM are not supposed to giggle here. Naughty TVXQ! laugh.gif
(CM is usually very polite. A rare video where CM was caught being naughty. ^^
Is it JJ's fault?! What do you say? LOL)
