This is information with regards to the company's artist Tohoshinki.

●Tohoshinki will suspend their activities.

Although Tohoshinki will be suspending their activities, they have such talent, are young men with a future, and we will be committed in giving our best support to all five's activities in future.

From now on, with regards to [Junsu], [Yuchun], [Jejung], [Changmin], [Yunho], please watch over them warmly, thank you.

With regards to the above matter, we received many requests from everyone regarding the future of Bigeast. After much consultation among the staff, the following has been decided.

Regarding Bigeast's future

On 6 April (Tuesday), as announced through e-mail, it was decided that Bigeast will continue.

However, due to the hiatus on Tohoshinki's activities, it would be hard to provide the existing member benefits service (※) As such, we have reviewed our services and will be providing new member benefits. Please read the member benefits listed in the page below.

In addition, for those who wish to withdraw their membership, the annual fee (4,200円) will be refunded.

– First, Yuchun will have his Japanese drama debut by starring at BeeTV drama “Beautiful Love~kimi ga ireba~”, and since you’re in charge of the theme song, can you please give us your thought about the drama?

Junsu: Despite the fact that Yuchun also appear in the drama, still I think the drama has a great content, I worked hard so that I can heap up the drama with the songs. I visited the shooting location once as well, seeing everyone is working hard to produce good works, including Yuchun, giving me a lot of motivation too.”

Junsu: To meet the expectations of the producer who kindly told he wanted me to sing it, the song’s lyrics was written to fit the contents of the drama and I tried to sing it in my own way.

Dong Bang Shin Ki’s Kim JunSu Coming to Singapore as Guest Performer


23 years old Korea new face, Kim JunHo, debuted with the help of his twin brother, Kim JunSu (a.k.a Xiah), member of popular group Dong Bang Shin Ki. But unlike his younger brother who had gained his popularity from Korea and the rest of the world, he had chosen to debut at China. Not only did he sign on a contract with a BeiJing agency company, he had also held his first showcase at BeiJing.

Dong Bang Shin Ki had debuted for 7 years, their popularity keep on raising without falling, however recently there are some ‘dispute’ rumours, heard that they held numerous meeting at both Korea and Japan early this month, the decision is ‘solo activities’, and of course their future activities will gather much attentions. However the organizing company expressed that the reason for Kim JunSu to visit Singapore is mainly to show his support for his brother as a guest performer, the main focus is still Kim JunHo.

The organizer also mentioned that other than the 1st May showcase at Resort World Sentosa (RWS), JunHo is going to appear at IMM the next day for a handshake section. Currently they are planning to have a fan sign section at Somerset@313 HMV outlet on 2nd May afternoon, but it’s yet to confirm.

During the 1-hour showcase, JunHo will be performing 5 songs, games and activities with the audiences, giving a chance to fans to get closer to him.

Organizing company also pointed out that the tickets are 90% sold.


Kim JunSu appearing only 1 out of 3 events

Out of the 3 planned events, Dong Bang Shin Ki’s JunSu agreed to appear only at one of them, performing one ballad song. As for the other 2 events, the organizer admitted, “this had to depend on JunSu himself”.


A team of 21 people to Singapore

A team of 21 people will be coming over from Korea, Kim brothers are not picky when come to food, wants to try out local delicacies.

Kim JunSu will reach Singapore tomorrow at 21:20, flight KE 641. He is going to meet up with his brother at the restricted area together with a group of 17 people before heading out of the arriving hall. The team consists of managers, stylists and dancers.

During this 3days in Singapore, the organizing company prepared to bring the Kim twins around Singapore to taste all the local delicacies, “some Korea artists had insisted to eat at Korean restaurant when they are in Sinfgapore, but the Kim twins are not picky on foods, never specific that there must be Kimchi! They are willing to try the local foods, we had even prepared to bring them to try seafood, etc.”

Local fans can purchase JunHo CD at HMV, and Singapore stop is the third stop of Zuno Showcase after BeiJing and Tokyo.

[TRANS] Beautiful Love Synopsis

Magazine reporter Hinata (Aya Oomasa) was visiting South Korea for a magazine interview. Whilst she met one of the baddest man by chance, Yong-soo (Yoochun), the son of South Korean chaebol Yasunori group.

Later on, Yong-soo as the representative of the conglomerate group came to Japan to buy a major hotel line. When Hinata returned to Japan, she’s surprised to again, encounter Yong-soo who was wandering around the city!?

Hinata was being unaware that he’s the rich son being rumored to lost on street, while Yong-soo has escaped for freedom as he’s fed up of the life bound to be a conglomerate. Through multiple interactions, the two started to understand each other more… without status nor money, what is the thing a human actually needs? While Yong-soo and Hinata sought for it together, how will the love story between them will finally head to?

[TRANS] Yoochun’s BARKS Interview - Beautiful Love Drama

– This series will debut in Japan, so what is your opinion about this first work (role) offer to appear in drama?

Yuchun: I have never done acting seriously, moreover the Japanese…. honestly it’s very uneasy.

– This is also your first time filming in Japan, how do you think about the actual shooting?

Yuchun: It went well, all co-stars, also thanks to the director and all staffs’ support, it was really fun. All the artists seemed to do it seriously, and I thought the artists schedule was a tight one.

– Please tell me the memorable scene during the shooting

Yuchun: Since the shooting went with no time to practice at all, everday at the end of filming I would still stay with my manager at home and studied the script for the next day filming. I had lack of sleeping time. The anxiety and pressure whether I have already prepared myself properly and the need to sleep soon, also I didn’t have any appetite to eat, it was really hard. But acting is fun and going for filming is fun too, I’m able to experience the life of someone that wasn’t me, it’s amazing. For a shooting that only lasted for one week, I received tremendous excitement!

– The role taken by Yoochun is Yonsu, the son of conglomerate, whose personality is so overbearing that is too hard to take by most people. Can you tell me the difference with your own personality?

Yuchun: Even though Yonsu is the son of a chaebol, he’s actually a lonely person. What human values, is not one that is important. Yonsu and I are very different but I feel like I can understand him. Someone like Hinata for Yonsu, to me currently is the members who are like family to me, and all fans, I’m happy because there are always someone who support me.

– Furthermore, while Yonsu was walking around showing an overbearing manner, in fact he’s in agony for his life bound. The inside of him is screaming to get freedom and that is one hard part you have to do, have you been prepared for it before the shooting?

Yuchun: There is may not any special preparation… I didn’t have much time (laughs). But, I’ve been imagining myself as Yonsu. I feel empathetic to this character, it’s hard to be him.

– Yonsu, after he came to Japan and met Hinata, his life changed. While for Yuchun’s own life, can you think of something you’ve met that has changed your life?

Yuchun: I have a lot~ In this drama, Since I met with many great actors, staffs, and director, I discovered the fun of acting. I could even dream now of becoming a performer who can act too. Those are things I met which changed my life!

– For this drama, I think there was a shooting scene where you and Hinata went on “Tour dates in Tokyo”, probably those places aren’t ones you usually go to on daily basis, right? So Yuchun san, do you have a preferrable date spot in Tokyo?

Yuchun: Asakusa! Even if not for a date, I want to go to somewhere private.

– After this first challenge in Japanese drama, would you like to continue acting from now on?

Yuchun: I want to try it again! But I also want to sing soon!

– Finally, thank you for your coorperation in this interview.

Yuchun: Yonsu and Hinata, I’ll be happy if you can feel the movements of their heart. Also, XIAH Junsu will sing the theme song “Kimi ga ireba~Beautiful Love~” for our drama, please check it out.

[NEWS] 100428 TVXQ's Yunho Chosen as Korea's Representative for World Expo 2010

Even though there’s been a lot of controversy and complications surrounding TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki, some good news has surfaced as it’s been announced that leader Yunho will be attending the 2010 World Expo as a representative of Korea.

If you’re unfamiliar with the World Expo, this event has been an important worldwide tradition where many countries gather and show off their national brand and culture. This year’s expo will begin on May 1st and end on October 31st in Shanghai, China.

On the 28th, Yunho’s representative stated, “Yunho has been chosen by KOTRA (Korean Trade-Investment Promotion Agency) to attend the expo on behalf of South Korea.”

The World Expo is one of biggest occurrences in global events and it’s quite an honor for Yunho to be representing South Korea.

During the announcement ceremony, a lengthy promotional video involving SM Entertainment artists such as Amber, Victoria, Krystal, Donghae, Eunhyuk, Henry, Siwon, Yunho and others was displayed. This video will be played throughout the expo to promote green cities for the future. A representative expressed that Yunho plays the lead character because of his high popularity in China.

The people who studied Korean has been increasing under the influence of Korean drama.

I met Jejung of Tohoshinki at work.
He is a polite young man and seems to be likeable.
His Japanese is fluent, too.

Perhaps because Japanese had been living in such isolated islands, thus the tendency to learn other foreign language is rather low?

However right now, Korea and Japan are having a close relationship.
After all I want to be able to speak Korean too.

They were able to pull through in a foreign country, because they loved to sing, and the 5 members were together…
They were only able to do their best in a blind effort 5 years ago.

We should not say that they should have taken another step, or, if they walked a different way…
I think we should not say those words….

I regret that I was not able to meet them in their debut days, but I think that it is my destiny that I was able to met them.
Though all the fans should differ when they first met them, all of us are the same place when it comes to feel the current themselves.
We tend to think that… we wanted to meet them at an earlier stage, but, we should be thankful that for the miracle that we were able to meet them……

TVXQ's Magnae, Changmin will soon have his acting debut. The stage that was built for his debut, is [Paradise Meadow]. As the exact date for the show's debut is not being confirmed, the teasers and contents of the show are not released, causing fans to panic whilst waiting. Tohoshinki has indefinitely suspended their activities according to their contract problems with their Korean management company. I went to the Japanese debut event of one of the members' brothers, Juno, who is a twin brother of Junsu.

I strongly felt the difference of the system of the Korean and Japanese entertainment companies with this problem. There are many things which we Japanese cannot understand. The 13 years' exclusivity contract, low income distribution, and such, are beyond the Japanese common knowledge. But in Korea, it could happen.

This is just my personal view, but all the fans should take a step backward, and watch and wait for them in a long term. Of course there are roads that we should directly see in order to go through. But I feel so sorry for them, that many small incidents disturb them, and that they could not concentrate on what they really want to do. I think that it is necessary for the fans to think what would be best under the current situations. They themselves would be sad if we say unrealistic thoughts, in the days, when everything is a mixture and a mess.

Korean dramas stir new waves in Japan

Fuji TV's program "Hallyu Alpha" (Mon-Fri 2:07~3:00), which started airing on January 11 in hopes of creating 'a new Hallyu generation,' has been receiving positive feedback. Back in 2004, Fuji TV had arranged a program called "Saturday Hallyu Wide Hour," airing dramas such as "Stairway To Heaven" and "Sad Love Song" but had cancelled it due to low ratings. This time, "Hallyu Alpha" tried to differentiate itself from other programs by playing uncensored versions of dramas, providing bilingual broadcast (in Japanese and Korean) and adding special features such as exclusive interviews with the cast and behind-the-scenes footage. MBC TV series "My Name Is Kim Sam-soon" kicked off the program, followed by KBS' "Woman In The Sun" in February.

Viewers responded to the show somewhat later -- "The Shining Inheritance," starring Lee Seung-gi and Han Hyo-joo, made bigger splashes than expected during its month-long run in March. According to local media reports, the premiere episode of "The Shining Inheritance," broadcast on March 2, scored a mere 5.3 percent in viewership ratings. But the figure constantly climbed, peaking at 9.7 percent on March 24 and the final episode aired on March 30 scoring a rating of 8.0 percent. Considering that the average viewership rating around 2 p.m. on weekdays -- which is when "Hallyu Alpha" airs -- is approximately four to five percent, the figure is the highest among all the dramas that have aired in the same time slot for the past ten years. Rumor has it that local television executives were very surprised by the ratings for "The Shining Inheritance." Lead actors Lee Seung-gi and Han Hyo-joo made headlines when they visited Japan in time with the show's airing in the country. Han, who plays the female lead Go Eun-sung, was particularly showered with attention as her telecinema movie "Postman to Heaven", co-starring TVXQ member Hero Jae-joong, had also opened in Japan.


Japanese students fall in love with Lee Seung-gi and Han Hyo-joo


Many fervent viewers poured out their comments about the show on the viewers' board for "The Shining Inheritance." And it is worth noting that a majority of these viewers were high-school students and young people in their twenties and thirties. Popular Korean idol groups Tohoshinki (TVXQ) and Big Bang have been nominated in The MTV World Stage Video Music Award JAPAN (also known as WS VMAJ) for “Best Group Video” and “Best New Artist in a Video” respectively.

MTV Japan had announced on 21st April that TVXQ had been nominated for this category with their “Share The World” MV. TVXQ, who had declared their indefinite hiatus from the music scene earlier this month, will be one of the media’s focuses as it is still uncertain if all five members will be gathering again to attend this year’s award ceremony.

Big Bang, who received overwhelming response in Japan last year, is also nominated for the category “Best New Artist in a Video” with their “GARAGARA GO!” MV. Their attending of this award ceremony will further boost their popularity in Japan.

Korea’s female idol group, 2NE1, has also been invited to this year’s award.

This year’s VMAJ will be held on 29th May, at 6PM at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Tokyo.

[NEWS] 100418 DBSK Establishes Record in Japan

Dong Bang Shin Ki announced the suspension of their activities as a group on April 3, but it is true that they left a significant legacy in the Japanese music industry.

Due to those splendid achievements that they have made, Dong Bang Shin Ki ranked in 3rd place on the Oricon Yearly Singles Ranking for 2009 following the Japanese idop groups Arashi and Exile. The ranking was decided based on the total number of sales of singles, albums and DVDs, and Dong Bang Shin Ki recorded 6.89 billion yen (about 8.26 million won) in total sales.

Meanwhile, after the suspension announcement made on April 3, their fans left about 15,000 messages over only three days until April 6, wishing for the group's continuation and comeback.

Japanese music critic Tomisawa Issei delivered his analysis at an interview with the Japanese press, saying, “Due to Dong Bang Shin Ki’s suspension, their Japanese agency Avex might have incurred losses of a minimum of three billion yen to a maximum of five billion yen [approximately six million won] in sales.”

Even with Dong Bang Shin Ki’s announcement to suspend their activities, the Avex agency officially announced on April 6 that the official Japanese fan club “Bigest,” with more than 120,000 members, will still remain intact. At present, the five members of Dong Bang Shin Ki are preparing for individual activities as actors in dramas and movies and as solo singers.
